The first hours in Japan

Tokyo , Ah Tokyo …
You can imagine a city.
You can learn everything about a city but there is nothing that can replace the experience of actually being physically here. That’s what I’m realizing since I landed.

My first hours in Tokyo.

It’s 23h40 local time and I wander around my hostel in some random streets. After a very long journey I have finally reached my hotel.

My first experience in Japan was the transportation system. And … WOW.
The railway system is HUGE. I mean beyond comprehension. So after getting a bit lost I have find my way. Japanese people are really helpful too. You dont have time to get lost here. Someone will try his best to help you out. Japanese efficiency !

So I reached my hotel. Which is a nice place with many foreigners. Some travels and some lives in Japan. Many different interesting stories to listen.

How these people end up choosing leaving europe to live 8900 km away from their home .. ?
What is that driving force that push them to start from square one in a drasticly different culture ?
After a few conversations I realize how tired I am from the long journey. Therefore I will keep the philosophy speechs for another time. I barely did’nt slept in the planes.

First impression ? The vending machines man !

It’s simple , they are everywhere !
I knew this from previous research but wow this is indeed striking. Even in narrow street you can find them. And they will sell you a lot of different produces such as coffee, tea , cigarettes , underwears …

Next discovery . The 7/11 store !

Nice collection of masks !
You have the choice here.

What to say ? … You can find good quality products for pretty cheap prices. Nothing compared to our westerned corner shops. And there are open 24 / 24 , 7/7.

I have tried Daifuku tonight. This seems really strange I thought I give it a try.
So basically it’s a light rice flour dought filled with a red bean paste inside. Sound strange but it turn out to be really good and not sweet at all. The texture was very pleasing. Like what you can indulge sweets without destroying your teeths !
Well done Japan 🙂

So this it , the first few hours are definetely interesting. I’m really looking forward discovering more about this country. Who knows what tommorow will bring.
