Today let’s walk to our next destination , Asakusa !

Tokyo SkyTree is never far away. It’s actually the highest observation spot here but it’s apparently crowded and pricey. I might try something else for the view.

After a 30min walk i’m reaching the famous Senso-ji gate. I have to say I’m amazed by how pleasant the streets of Tokyo are. It’s clean , quiet , green and well organised. You dont feel being in the biggest city on earth.

Once you go inside the gate you find a long alleyway full of shops. Especially sweets. Quite crowded but nice atmosphere.
There is so much food to try which make it challenging. Most of the traditional sweets I have seen are with a red bean paste filling but I’ve tried with sweet potatoes and lemon too. Yummy.
At this one you can eat ice cream sandwich , interesting. The young school girls seems to love it.
At the end of this street your stomach should hurt.
The temple site is beautiful. You can get a good feel of ancient Japan here.

But the modern Japan is never really far if you look around , contrasts are everywhere. Past and future hand in hand. A few examples :

Ah Japan … what would you be without your vending machines.
And some more food to try out.

“Melon pan” , a sort of sweet white bread. Oishi !

A poor “Matcha teddy bear” that lost his head. Life is cruel for these teddy bears.

Another one who lost his head. Japan is a fun place. They have good imagination we can say. It’s “Kawai” !

Now heading to Kappabashi doori , a street full of shops specialised in kitchen equipment. Knifes , cups ..
Sky Tree ,
you again ?
Then I discovered a good place to get your “Nori” seaweed. “Numata Nori” is the place to go ! They harvest them in the south island ,Kyushu. Numata is a sweet Japanese with good english.

The man himself.
If you come to Japan you have to try Takoyaki or octopus balls. There a made of tentacles dipped in a heavy batter. It’s delicious !
With two sexy Russian , what else would you ask ? 😉
After a heavy digestion (Takoyaki arent health food^^) , i’m heading toward the Sumida river.
f
If you wonder what will be the future , just come to Tokyo.

Ready for a boat trip to Odaiba !
