Odaiba

I’m realising how much there is to share about a journey. Especially when it comes to countries like Japan. I realise that I cannot reveal you everything via this blog , therefore you’ll have to come here to experience the country 🙂 There is so much little hidden gems. Pictures and word cannot transport thoses feelings. Therefore I will keep it to glimpses rather.  Having a blog can be time / energy consuming therefore you should stay aware of that when you edit it. It’s got to be a pleasure first. This is how we learn isn’t it. We try and we adjust till we find a good balance. Enought talking for now. Let’s explore.

So after Asakusa I’m heading to Odaiba , an artificial island home to robots and high technologies.  You can ride a boat to go there. It’s pleasant as it give you a 45 min break ,in the cool breeze to cool your neurons down.

The future is already in Odaiba. You can see that with the architecture all around.

I’m in Odaiba for something special today. I’m completely lost and end up in a Japanese car. The driver spend 30min with me to find out where was the location. Call his friend. And end up driving me at destination. He was on his work time. Japanese are the most helpful people. Dont worry if you cann’t read or talk because kindness goes beyond language. Especially true in Japan.

After a long journey I’ve reach the destination.
Team Lab Tokyo ! If you come to Japan you have to try this “museum”.
Pictures speaks louder than words.

The total psychedelic trip. All in digital.

This digital museum is made out of many rooms with crazy light effects (maping). There is also this etheral ambient music that surrounds you. A very atmospheric experience. I have to say going in that place after a long first day plus the jetlag was quite intense.
But I repeat this is place to experience. Pictures dont give justice to this wonderful museum.

There is even a tea room inside where you can enjoy a psychedelic matcha tea.

A unique experience where you can see a flower blossoming and transforming.
Very strange but quite profound at the same time. I feel this place reach you deep inside. Some sort of futuristic meditation. Well done Japan.
There is also many other cool stuff inside. It’s suppose to close in 2020 so make sure to come beforehand. if not Team lab has many experimental places like this one in the world. Singapore is one of them.

Okay now out of Team LAB to reconnect with reality. Or should we say “Japanese reality”.

The cars of tomorow ?

Okay now time to get lost in… a MALL !
By the way I never intended to visit a mall but I just got lost in it (looking for food). Everything is so big here. The place is call Venus Fort. A complex with clooth shops and cafés.

This is inside the mall. I mean  …. can you see the blue sky from inside?

Okay now it’s time to go home. A bit of a nightmare. Still not used to the transportation system here (this map only show the train system not the underground).

Otherwise you will end up into someone or worst case scenario you’ll die. Just saying 🙂

The contrast between the old and the new is stunning in Tokyo. From Asakusa to Odaiba, it was two different world. It’s beautifull to see cultures that are proud of their heritage while looking toward the future.

A plus , mata ne またね
