For that second part of the day I headed to nearby Yokohama. This area is well know for his waterfront and it’s only 15 min train away. Let’s take some fresh air in.
Yokohama Ikimashou !
Apparently Yokohama has the biggest Chinese population in Japan therefore you’ll find a Chinatown. So this where I went first , and I was starving too.

This Chinatown was quite big and has so many restaurants and shops. It is very touristy place but nevertheless quite enjoyable. It gives you a different perspective of Tokyo. To be honest I don’t know if the shop owners were Chinese , their accent felt Japanese to me .. maybe I am wrong.
The most famous food was Dim Sum , a kind of warm bun with a filling. I ended up finding a vegetarian version (quite rare apparently).
Itadakimasu !
Spinach Dim Sum. The texture was so fluffy and hot inside.
You can also find a beautiful Chinese temple in the heart of Chinatown.

Buying stuff at a store
Chinatown was interesting but I had not much more to do there so I went to the waterfront which is only 5 min walk from there.

Playing with the seagulls
This Yokohama waterfront is quite nice actually. The sun was up so perfect time to chill. This remains a concrete of a waterfront but the park next to it gives some greenery. It’s a good place to hang out for a date or with friends. Out of crazy downtown Tokyo. They is a very modern Pier closeby.

Yokohama was a relaxing stopover . With express train it takes just about 35 minutes so it isn’t that far from downtown. If you look for something more natural and small Kamakura (see article) will be a best pick. It’s located 1 h away from downtown but has a more laidback feel , and even sand beach and surfers 🙂
Take care my friends ,
Ja mata ne !
