Shibuya “Sky deck”

Hello my friend , for todays adventure I want to bring you high in the Sky !
Tokyo has so many high viewpoint to get mesmerized with. At night the city turns into a field of stars … but first we start with lunch πŸ™‚

Kombini stores are everywhere and I just founded a 7/11

P1060193Filling and healthy lunch by the sun in Inokashira Park. Costed around 6 euro and was vegetarian (which I enjoy having especially when tired or sick).

This Inokashira park is such a blessing in that concrete jungle that is Tokyo. It breathe simplicity and freshness. It was Saturday which means day off for most Tokyo people. So sweet to observe little bubbles of life in that park , mostly families enjoying simple but good quality time with children πŸ™‚ Inspiring to be that neutral observer , like an Alien that just landed in a new planet. I love that feeling.

I’m meeting a friend for this afternoon. Let’s ride our good old Inokashira Line to our terminus , Shibuya.

I am meeting my friend at Hachiko square , an area famous for his dog statue. This dog is the emblem of Shibuya and people usually meet up there.

I have finally met my friend in that ever coming crowd. I have to say that this area is overwhelming because they are so many people all over !Β  So now we are going to a tower that just opened his door at the beginning of this month. The “Shibuya Scramble Square” is a 46 floor , hypermodern tower with many shopping options inside. We did not really care about the shopping but we wanted to catch the view from the freshly opened rooftop. Let’s check it out.

P1060221Shibuya crossing from higher up. A “tsunami” of human beings. Around 2500 people are meant to cross every time the signal changes.

The entrance fee was 1800 yen when we came there (about 15 euro ) , not so cheap but you can stay as long as you want and they is places to sit back and enjoy the site.

The Sky deck high is at 230 meters and you can explore 360Β°

The rooftop was pretty cool as it was an open space. Only a thick glass was separating you from the emptiness. The design in there was minimalistic and the ambiance was great too. You can assist a little Sound & light show with Ethereal background music.

P1060241Epic scenerie !

P1060249Reflecting on life. Thoughts in suspensions …

P1060255Sweet red lady.

You could chill out on the “helicopter field” which was nice to lie down and also on few hammocks.

P1060257Very cool setup with the light.

P1060269Hello Tokyo !

The view at the Sky deck was quite something. It really is mesmerizing. This infinity of red and yellow-ish spot all around. You just couldn’t see the end of this show. You really feel like a tiny particule of sand in the massive desert that is Tokyo. A concrete desert made out of towers , lights , neons , restaurants , people and many parks too. Actually the big patch of darkness behind us was the Yoyogi Park. Probably one of the biggest park in the area and well known by Tokyo people.

This Sky deck was an experience. I think with Roppongi Mori tower sky deck and this one we probably have the two most scenic views of that gigantic city. A must experience at night to get that “space-universe like feel”. Metaphysical experiences in an artificial setup. Such constrasts. Love it πŸ™‚

So hungry after that , we had some Okonomiyaki on our way back home in Kichijoji.
Okonomiyaki are interesting food because you actually cook them yourself on a hot “plancha” type stove.

P1060278First order what you want with the tablet.

P1060281Mix the ingredient together and cook them on the hot plancha.

P1060287It’s getting ready. We had one with : noodles ,Β  cheese , mochi , veggies , shrimps and squid.

P1060289Add the topping and cut , it’s ready !
Itadakimasu πŸ™‚

Tokyo can be really overwhelming and full-on , especially coming from the countryside. But needless to say that this city is fascinating. Tokyo is always transforming. The access to Art , Culture , Food and extravagante Architecture. This all blends into a interesting mix of neighborhoods that are actually very different from each others. It’s Cities into the City. It’s gigantic yet well organized, modern yet traditional. It has a good balance. Tokyo is a crazy place , it shows me how possible it is to live in such a densely populated area. I wouldn’t live in such a big city but nevertheless I love the contrast that it offers. Thanks you Japan , and thanks you Hisako for that nice day πŸ™‚

Mata mata !
