We are now nearby the famous Fuji mountain in Fujinomiya city. There is an abandoned museum not so far away from downtown. We don’t have many pieces of information about it but we found the location on Google map. There is a great website that catalogue many of these places all across Japan. It’s all in Japanese so difficult to get the information for non-speaking people like me. Luckily my good friend Hisako is taking part on this adventure. After a short 30 min bus ride we arrived in the middle of nowhere , with a misty fog all around us. This atmosphere makes explorations even more exciting and somehow slightly scary.
The road toward our next exploration.
Wonder museum , an old museum nearby a famous touristy spot , a beautiful waterfall.
This site was just next the main road so we had to be careful when stepping inside.

An old and slightly creepy building. The paintings and some walls were falling apart.
Let’s get inside , we find an open door but from the outside almost no windows can be see. This museum was probably used in a dark setting for visual effects. It’s always a bit scary to enter a dark space. Stepping into the unknown. But luckily I always bring a frontal lamp with me.

Put your umbrella here. There is already two umbrellas attached there .. Is there people inside already .. ? We stoped a little while and couldn’t hear anything. Some people must have left them behind.
Totaly empty. Unfortunately, no hidden treasures from the past remain within the building. This looked more like an old warehouse to us.

Nothing left indeed but still some interesting lighting to observe.
This empty and dark place was quite scary to us. I love the complete silence in theses “Haikyo”. Somehow it is peacefull. It feels like someone that retired a long time ago from work. A moment of rest for this museum that must have seen many families.
Finding the men’s toilet.

Two passengers going thought time and space.

From outside.
In Ruins you can often find memories of the past. Items that can indicate some parts of the history. There is almost nothing left but we found some interesting things still.

Remaining tickets from the entrance desk. No indication of the time scale here but this museum was probably running in the 70’s or 80’s. It’s hard to say but we can tell that this place has been forgotten for quite a long time now.
The Stairway to Heaven .. ? Let’s go up one level.

And up one more level.

Japanese Shinto Shrine in the frame.
Rooftop area.
Sad kitten. Feeling a bit lonely probably.

Broken mirror. Playing with the camera.
Time to go down now.

The museum entrance , empty.
Wonder museum , not so wonderful looking anymore.
This exploration was different than the other one’s. There was nothing left in the museum which felt less interesting in a way. But still , the atmosphere inside was great. This feeling of emptiness bring’s up interesting feelings inside our bodies. It’s just like an invisible tension. Going to Ruins is an experience first of all. A moment where the time is in suspension. A moment of peace amid the chaos and the decays of time. It tooked us 1h30 to walk it all.
We don’t know today why this museum had to close. It was probably not a good business anymore and they had to end it up. Today , the ruins of this old museum still remains. And will probably remains for a long time.
Who know’s …
